Try as we might, we haven’t been able to extend summer forever. While we’re taking this week to recharge before fall (and perhaps more importantly for us, before New York Fashion Week), we’ve put together a way for you to recharge too. The way we see it, the key to being able to wear a shoe both now and in three months is to choose your shape and color carefully. Cutouts work great – they give you enough ventilation for now and enough coverage for later, whether or not you go for a ladylike d’Orsay or a tough bootie with some creative openings. In fact, booties in general are a good bet, especially in lighter neutrals. If you prefer an open toe, choosing a sandal with enough coverage is key for transitioning into fall.
