Perhaps no woman in the world is as inextricably linked to shoes as Sarah Jessica Parker, seen here wearing the Manolo Blahnik BB Pumps. In her signature role as Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City, shoes were her obsession, and often, her near-undoing. As Bradshaw, SJP turned Blahnik’s shoes from a product known among the elite to a veritable household name, especially among young, upwardly mobile women. Then, of course, SATC went off the air and the era of the platform started, and because of his refusal to make anything but single-sole shoes, Blahnik fell out of favor among the uber-fashionable.
Single-sole shoes are now back with a vengeance, and as a result, Manolo’s popularity has once again skyrocketed. He’s a master of the format, and no one’s better at showing off his wares than SJP, even all these years later. She wore this classic black suede version of the BB pump to a swanky dinner in London, and they’re a great way to anchor the airy, gilded flapper dress she chose. I’m not entirely sure who makes her bag, but based on the quilting and chain, I’d say there’s a good chance it’s Chanel. Pick up SJP’s Manolos for $595.
