Valentino Resort 2014 Shoes (2)

The ultra-feminine among you might see this differently than I do, but I’m pretty excited to see Valentino Resort 2014 shoes looking a little less girlish and a little more modern. The luxury has always been there, of course, and Valentino is never going to turn into Charlotte Olympia overnight (and it shouldn’t, at all), but I always appreciate seeing a look evolve. A couple years ago, Valentino’s footwear was all stiff bows and respectable pumps. Now we’ve got feathers and camouflage, but in a totally Valentino way.

For those who love Rockstuds, you’ll find plenty of those, in both familiar (pumps) and new (block-heel sandals) shapes. For me, I’m more interested in the multi-color, multi-texture camouflage skimmers, along with the modern, clean-edged sandals, both flat and heeled, accented with thin bands of neon feathers. I’ve never seen feathers look more well-edited or sophisticated, but if anyone can make that happen, it’s definitely Valentino. This collection is available for pre-order via Moda Operandi through July 1, along with the line’s excellent handbags.

  • I’ve never liked anything feathery since now-I need those sandals with neon yellow feather trim in my life ! They’re the definition of edgy but sophisticated.
