Christian Louboutin sneakers? Really?
by Amanda MullI can’t get behind the Christian Louboutin Rantus Oriato Trainer for the same reason that I can’t buy Wayfarers from anyone but Ray-Ban – why buy an overpriced “designer” version of an item when you can have the original inspiration for less? To me, that seems like the more stylish choice, not to mention the more financially responsible one.
The choice of sparkly dotted suede on this shoe is fun, of course, but I’m not sure that the colors coordinate very well. And do they have the Louboutin signature red sole? I’m sure they do, but the rubber bottoms on sneakers mean that it wouldn’t look anything like the ones on other shoes from the brand. The more I think about this shoe, the more I’m sure that it just isn’t a good idea.
I love it when stylish girls throw something like a really cool pair of sneakers into their wardrobes – why not try a pair of colorful Nike Dunks instead of your ballet flats the next time that you wear skinny jeans? Dunks can be customized in your own favorite color palette and usually cost less than $150, which is way more than I can say for their Louboutin counterparts. Buy through Saks for $645.

No, thanks. Louboutin should stick to the dressier shoes they do best. These aren’t really anything special, I agree that I like actual Nike dunks better.
Not a big fan of these, but I love their studded sneakers!
645 have they lost their minds???
Totally agree with you, Amanda!
are you kidding me? 645? the price tag is as ridiculous as the shoe itself. nothing special about them, they are simply overpriced sneakers.
these are ugly and WAY overpriced!
really cute! I don’t like the high top style though…
They make an ugly sneaker and have the nerve to charge $645.
Since I’m not a real athletic shoe wearer (played sports in school, I’m over it), my opinion maybe slightly biased. If they’re not classic Converse or Coach tennis shoes, I pretty much don’t wear any.
Actually, I could see wearing these! What fun!
