Christian Louboutin Pigalle Decollete Batignolles Pumps

I spend perhaps more time than most squinting at the feet of starlets and celebs, trying to ascertain exactly which shoes they’re wearing. In some ways, Christian Louboutin makes that task easier – his signature red soles are visible in a way that no other brand has yet figured out how to replicate. (Except by trying their hand at their own colored soles, of course.) Figuring out that a shoe is a Louboutin is only have the struggle, though – which one is it? In particular, the Christian Louboutin Pigalle Pumps, Christian Louboutin Batignolles Pumps and Christian Louboutin Decollete Pumps have a lot of similarities at first glance, and we’ve put together a handy guide to help you figure out which one is right for you.

The Pigalle is the most severe of the group. It comes in a wide variety of heel heights, from mid to stiletto, but the most recognizable version is like the highest – this 120mm version you see below. The shoe has a perfectly straight heel, low sides and a very short toe box for a shoe with a pointed toe. These are a Louboutin classic that has been made for many years. If you want a shoe that embodies Louboutin’s signature brand of aggressive sensuality, this is the shoe.

The Batignolles is the newest design of the group – it’s been available only recently. The body of the shoe seems to be identical to that of the Pigalles (low sides, short toe box) based on the feedback we’ve received from Louboutin lovers at PurseForum, with the big difference being the heel. Instead of the Pigalle’s stick-straight stiletto, the Batignolles features a curvy, sculpted heel that gives it a less agressive, slightly more romantic look than the Pigalle. If the Pigalle is too severe for you but you still want the extreme height and the sex appeal, this is your shoe.

The Decolletes are the most delicate of the trio, with a thin, slightly sculpted heel, longer toe box and higher sides. If you want a lower heel (the Decollete doesn’t come in a 120) and a look that’s more ladylike than aggressively sexual, the Decollete is the way to go.

thank you for clearing this out; I have some older Decolettes, they look slightly different.

  • Anna

there are 2 types of decollete actually. the one above is 554. theres another one called 868

    • shueaddict

thank you … I love the Decolettes – but comparing to other high heel pumps in my closet they are not as comfy – so I end up wearing them rarely, only to show off

  • M-cubes

Are Louboutins considered to be comfy heels?

    • Chels

Not really. If you are asian, I would recommend you wear decollette. Pigalle is too tight.

  • Silversun

Super useful, thank you! I’d often wondered about the difference between these, they all looked the same upon first glance… high and pointy! 😀

I have Pigalle120 black which I wear in bed only and decollete554 nude for day. The article is true. love it x

    • Chels

Oh and this is funny, I wear Pigalle120 in size 40 but decollete554 in size 40.5.

    • Chels

Oh and last thing, I noticed that decollete554 is very very similar to Jimmy Choo’s Abel (court shoes). The shape of shoes and heels are almost the same but Jimmy Choo is more co………ble.

Chels… What the hell do you mean…. in bed?

    • Anna

I have decolette 554 and find the heel very difficult due to it’s thinness. Can’t seem to get a hold of the batignolles ANYWHERE in red. Can find in decolette 554 but would not buy again. Do they still make the pigalle or batignolles in red?? Any help would be much appreciated.
